Five dead women in fifteen months. Each of their bodies suffered a single but fatal gunshot to the head. There are no shell casings at the scenes. No fingerprints, no evidence, no suspects. Detective Lacey Mills doesn’t know where to turn.

In the course of her investigation, she meets Alison Rhodes, a captivating woman who went on a date with the most recent victim less than 48 hours before her demise. As the murders become more intense, however, so do Detective Mills’ feelings for Alison—along with her suspicions that Ali may be more than just a potential witness.

When it appears that Ali could be the killer’s next target, Lacey puts everything at risk—including her own life—to protect her. But it’s what she eventually uncovers about Ali that might truly kill her.

My greatest pastime is reading. I am a voracious reader and when a story grabs hold of my imagination and attention from the start; it’s a bonus for my passion. The story started out strong and engaging. This was the first story I have read by this author and look forward to reading more.

I do have a bit of criticism though -- I am not only picking on Ms. DiCeglio but all the authors that use so much descriptive detail throughout the story and then abruptly end it with the fewest words and information as possible. I have always wondered why authors do this. For example, we are never given any reason or motivation as to why the murderer targeted these people. In what seems to be a couple of pages, the author rushes to the finish line without giving the reader any idea what progressed from point A to point B. Perhaps Ms. DiCeglio or any other authors that reads this review can enlighten me. The reader is left with many questions and in my case a bit frustrated.

*Spoiler Alert* I enjoy a good mystery and I love when the cop in the story is a woman. A beautiful woman at that (even though the reader doesn’t get a clue as to what Lace looks like in this story). There were many glaring issues. For instance, why the murderer became obsessed with Lace after only one encounter with her. How this killer escaped, etc., etc. My main pet peeve is the over the top details of things that do not add to the story and then leaving out stark answers to questions readers will have.

I also think that if an author introduces romance into the story -- the characters should have more dialogue and involvement between each other to account for them falling in love. I believe it is very important that an author open the bedroom doors for their readers. I think it a shame that many writers have qualms about describing two beautiful women demonstrating their love for one another. I applaud authors that don’t hide how two beautiful woman can show each other how much they love one another. It pulls the reader closer to the characters.

Sight Lines edition by Michelle DiCeglio Romance eBooks Reviews

Liked it! Story has a little bit of everything. A good storyline that has a cast of characters that have to deal with a serial killer in their little town. Everyone pointing their fingers at everyone else and not even getting close to the real killer.
A fun, light read for a couple of hours. Intrigue, romance, a good plot, fun.
I really enjoyed this book. I hope to read more from this Author. The chemistry between these two characters was so real. Felt everything they did. I would love for there to be a sequel.
I think this is a well crafted mystery and romance. Both story tracts are well differentiated and interesting. Enough plot twists to keep you engaged. A romance hot enough so that you read certain passages twice. It's the best dollar-value in this category!
The storyline was absolutely great and filled with suspense. No obvious give aways and a great love story to boot. The grammatical issues were a bit of a nuisance. I could see this being a Netflix movie or mini series *hint hint
4,75 stars because after having read the book 3 times I figured out what bothered me. It was that I got completely sidelined on who the main bad is despite being thrown crumbles on the face.
Really well written, interesting characters, a police officer that doesn't feel like a damned caricature, a solid storyline that is plausible in the twisted reality of a serial killer...
Ok, I've read it 4 times.
Absolutely recommending!
The suspense in this book was killing me. This is more than just a crime drama it's a love story meets a crime drama. I could not stop reading this book luckily I have the day off so I could spend it in bed reading this. I could literally hear Lacey mills in my head as I was reading it. To myself I kept saying who is the murderer who is the murderer? The twist was so good. Prepare yourself to fall in love with the characters and this book. I'm praying that there's going to be a sequel. Definitely worth getting on your . I just wish that they would have this in paperback.
I've read more lesbian fiction than one admits to in casual conversation. Despite discovering my gayness many years ago, I just recently discovered lesbian fiction and am delighted on how nice it is to have the sexy heroine run into the arms of an equally amazing heroine. Almost seems naughty. I do read an exorbitant amount of traditional fiction as well, but I digress.

I recently finished this little book and really enjoyed it. A solid crime tale with mystery and danger. A little romance, but not enough to distract from bullets and blood. AND THE MOST REFRESHING PART?!?!? No "I LOVE YOU" after 2 chapters. I understand, as a Uhaul loving lady, authors know we want the happy ending, crave the bliss of forever and unyielding passion, but sometimes implying a future is just as amazing as spoon feeding me one. Especially when coupled with robberies, stalking and blunt force trauma.

Easy read, but enough meat to keep readers engaged. Would have loved a little more character development, but the format lends itself well for future installments. Whether it is your first time reading a "gay" book or the 100th in your library, give it a read and thank me later.
